Can you work on a padi boat with ssi certification?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at getting my dive master/dive control specialist and am thinking about doing it through an internship. I was just wondering if it is possible to get a job on a padi boat if I get my dive control specialist with ssi. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I am a Padi MSDT and have been thinking of doing a Cross over ,

But it is the same the Other way once you are a Certain level you can just do a Cross over easily , just go to local Padi Shop and talk to Course director and can do in 1/2 days . The Liability Insurance will be the other problem , SSI are in the dive center where padi Instructors pay for them Self. so you would have to get your Own Liability + insurance Easy as long as you Pay ( australia is aprox $400 per year for Liability and medical)

If you only were guiding then a Cross over probably not necessary but most shops will try and sell it to you . Most Training agencys are almost exactly the same now (bsac,Naui,Padi, ssi, cmas, etc) -you can cross from one to other easy just they all want money and yearly fees

Hope that Helps Mark

The BendsThe Bends
Ask any scuba diver what is the one thing they fear most when diving and they will tell you it is the bends. However, if you get a group of divers together they will no doubt joke that '... we will probably all end up bent sooner or later!'. I myself often joked to friends and family that 'I'll probably just end up bent ...' and like most divers I used to think that it would never happen to me ... but it did. I got bent.
