Where to dive in oceania?

Hello everybody!

I'm a Norwegian diver who's going to Australia for diving in December and January. I wish to do a week of diving on one of the islands east of Australia.

I'm going alone and i do not wish a "touristy" place.Do anyone have any tips about where to go?

In advance, thank you very much for any reply.

Hi there. I live and work in Cairns as a dive instructor (since 1991) and have experience with most of the trips there. Also I run a small web booking site that offers discount on the trips there for divers from these forums.

Here is a link that gives details of some of the better trips out of Cairns. It outlines day trips as ewll as overnight.

Feel free to drop me a line if you need any more info.

SCUBA Diving and AsthmaSCUBA Diving and Asthma
For as long as I can remember I wanted to SCUBA dive. I remember being fascinated by my dad’s cylinders of air with yellow flaking paint and belts of lead weights that lay around the house, and the promise of what lay beneath the surface of the sea. As luck would have it, by the time I seriously started thinking about diving I had been diagnosed with adult asthma.
