Welding, what is really required

Hi guys,

Just wondering, since I don't know any underwater welders I was hoping someone here would have some inside knowledge...

I understand that doing the 1,2,3 ADAS is not enough to get a welding job, so what is an acceptable entry level amount of backround/education for such a job?

Would a Cert 2 in weld engineering be enough to get a foot in? Maybe x-ray standard? Do you need on land expirence in welding?

Thanks guys!
