Where to snorkel

Hi, I've just stated snorkelling and am loving it. I go to Mt Martha of the cliffs there and it's great. But I'd like to know of any other good places to visit and do some snorkelling. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi MelJ, assuming your a local (Mornington area) mostly along the esplanade from Snapper Point to Safety Beach. Be carefull this time of year though, boat traffic is high, good days brings lots of boats in, and most seem to travel in excess of speed limit, the only safe way to snorkel is to tow a dive flag as if you venture out too far you cannot be seen until too late. Great spots for snorkeling include: Snapper Point, south of Fishies Beach ( around the point from the boat ramp), Fossil Beach/Coral Road area,Bird-rock and of course all along the cliffs off Mt Martha. Happy snorkelling.

The only bad dive is the one YOU MISSED; take something from every dive,an image to remember it by.
