Dive Jobs

I am looking to get a job doing something dive related after i finish my HSC in NSW in November '04 and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to go about getting one and where to go. I am currently a PADI Rescue Diver and have some experience with underwater digital photography. Any ideas would be great.

Get an Instructors ticket ASAP. And start teaching video courses and open water courses. Hard to do anything in the dive industry without a OWSI license. Pretty Hard to make money as a U/W photographer...its an expensive hobby. You will find most professionals make money elsewhere to support their hobby.
A few people out there try to make a living filming students but i dont know if thats viable....Isnt that right Tim!
But If you end up in the Aussi dive industry....dont do it for money

That's right Giac ... you certainly won't get rich filming students, but most days it's a fun thing to do and if you have other sources of income it can be a fulfilling job - I've been doing it for 4 years now ... at least I get to go diving heaps, but be aware - filming underwater is real WORK, even though it sounds like the best job in the world.

Of course you could open a dive shop and CLEAN UP , right Giac ?

Whatever you do ... come past Byron Bay and check out diving here!

See you underwater ...

Thanks for your comments. But i didn't make this clear, but what i really want to do is work for the 3-4 months between the end of my HSC exams and the beginning of Uni. I want to get divemaster and instructor and was hoping to be able to do this while i worked. Any ideas now that i have made myself clear. Sorry for not making that clear.
Thanks,
Paul
