Head to Narooma and find yourself spoilt for choice when it comes to its waterways, being marked by a host of beaches, inlets and lakes. No surprises then that seafood is in plentitude here and of optimum quality, especially when it comes to prawns and oysters. If you head into Narooma from the north, seeing the combination of high hills and inviting shorelines is one of the best sights in New South Wales.

Underwater Recommendations

Montague Island is famous for the large seal colony present on the north side of the island. The Fur Seals are very friendly and love to show off their underwater acrobatics. However, all around this island there are some exciting dive sites to explore. Deeper reefs with fantastic rock formations surrounded by pelagics, Grey Nurse Sharks, Wobbegong Sharks, Port Jackson Sharks and several different types of rays. Old Wives, cuttlefish and small stingrays have found shelter in the more sheltered and shallow sites around the island. South of the island lies the wreck of the SS Lady Darling. This wreck has spectacular growth all over. Sponges, fans, jewel anemones and corals colour the remains.
