West Malaysia is the part of Malaysia which lies on the Malay Peninsula, and shares a land border with Thailand in the north. It is connected via a causeway and bridge to the island of Singapore to the south.

In the days before digital it was just too expensive for amateurs to take endless shots hoping for that one 'perfect' photo. On this particular occasion I remember shooting off half a roll. I don't think I'd ever done that before, but looking back now I guess it was worth it.

This scorpionfish was getting a bit excited as I tried to get close for a good shot. It shows the colourful wings quite nicely.
These colourful worms can be seen everywhere on the coral around Perhentian island in Malaysia.
Nudibranches are among my favorite subjects for macro photography, they don't move (at least not much) and are very colourful.
This big ray just stays under the same coral all the time, so I just had to wait for a day with decent visibility to take a picture of it.
