Painted Crayfish

One of the largest and most colourful crayfish I've ever seen. Located under the naval pier in Exmouth on a day dive. Sea&Sea MX-5II with YS-20A strobe.

Ever the opportunist - King Wrasse locating scraps in an empty craypot in the waters of the Marmion Marine Reserve, Western Australia - Sea&Sea MX-5II with YS-20A Strobe.

The photo was taken off Hastie St. beach in Bunbury W.A. The Perch was hiding in loose weeds rolling back and forth in the surge at the edge of the reef and I disturbed it when I grabbed a hand full of the weed. It sat still and posed for me whilst I took this photo with the macro lens.

Egg case of some sort ?

This pile of rubbery material found in reasonable shallow waters of Byron Bay looked like an egg band of some sort of mollusc. Any ideas ? - Please reply to my entry in the critters forum on the discussion board to comment.
