This photo was taken in January 2004 at Jervis Bay, NSW. The dive site is known as "The Docks". I used a Sea & Sea MX5. The photo was taken in roughly 12-13m of water, visibility wasn't great. I had to lie on my stomach, with the camera at full arms length under the ledge, a face full of kelp. I was operating blind, but took two photos. One of a wall with a bit of tail and this one. Taken with Canon PowerShot A80 on Legends Reef, Shellharbour, NSW on the 17th October 2004. Unlike most octopuses and shying into his hole, this guy stood his ground and seemed to want to look at us as much as we did him. Photocomp October '04 - Open
