The Shellharbour City area is the heart of the Illawarra holiday playground, nestled on the New South Wales south coast between the bustling city of Wollongong to the north and picturesque Kiama in the south.

Taken with Canon PowerShot A80 on Legends Reef, Shellharbour, NSW on the 17th October 2004. Unlike most octopuses and shying into his hole, this guy stood his ground and seemed to want to look at us as much as we did him. Photocomp October '04 - Open

Taken on Canon PowerShot A80 at The Gutter, Shellharbour, NSW on the 17th October 2004. Again mother nature amazes me with her astounding ability to surprise. This really remind me of a kangaroo paw. Photocomp October '04 - Open

Taken with Canon PowerShot A80 on the 17th October at Legends Reef, Shell Harbour. The viz was less than 10m and the nudis were out in full force. It must be mating season, because we saw stacks of the little critters being rudi-nudi! (Hypsolodoris bennetti - Wandy) Photocomp October '04 - Open

Taken with Canon PowerShot A80 at The Gravel Loader, Shellharbour. I really love taking macro shots of sea urchins, at first glance they appear to be simple black spiky things littering the ocean floor. Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. It seems ironic that such an incredible display of colour and structure be hidden from so many. Photocomp August '04 - Open
